Window collisions kill an estimated 600 million to 1 billion birds in the U.S. every year. Birds can't see glass โ they see reflections of sky and trees and fly straight into windows at full speed. Feather Friendly bird deterrent film solves this problem with an elegant, barely-visible solution.
How It Works
Feather Friendly uses a pattern of small markers applied to the exterior surface of glass. These markers are spaced close enough that birds recognize the window as a solid barrier, but far enough apart that humans barely notice them from inside. The result: birds see the window and avoid it.
Where It's Needed Most
Large picture windows, glass walkways, atriums, and homes surrounded by trees or near water are the biggest culprits for bird strikes. If you've ever heard a thud against your window, you know the problem. Our customers in Hampden, Orono, and throughout rural Maine see this frequently.
Residential and Commercial
We install Feather Friendly film on residential and commercial properties alike. It's especially popular with nature-conscious homeowners and businesses that want to reduce their environmental impact. Many architects now specify it for new construction projects.
Combine with Window Tinting
Feather Friendly film can be installed alongside decorative or solar window films. Some of our customers pair it with residential window tinting for combined UV protection, heat rejection, and bird safety.
