What does a ceramic coating actually do?
A ceramic coating bonds to your clear coat and forms a hard, glossy, hydrophobic layer. Water, road grime, bird droppings and tree sap slide off instead of etching in, washing takes a fraction of the time, and the paint keeps a deep shine.
Is a ceramic coating better than wax?
Wax sits on top of the paint and wears off in weeks. A professionally applied XPEL ceramic coating is chemically bonded and lasts for years with proper care, with far better chemical and UV resistance.
Does the price include paint correction?
Yes. Our ceramic coating service includes a wash and decontamination, clay bar, paint correction to remove swirls and light scratches, and a panel wipe before the coating is applied and cured. Coating over uncorrected paint locks in the flaws, so we do not skip this step.
Can a ceramic coating go over paint protection film or tint?
Yes. XPEL ceramic coating is designed to go over paint, PPF and glass. Coating PPF adds gloss and makes the film even easier to keep clean.

Do I still need to wash a coated car?
Yes, but much less often and with much less effort. Use a pH-neutral shampoo, avoid abrasive polishes, and the coating will keep doing its job. Ceramic coating is not a substitute for paint protection film if you want to stop rock chips.
